The Confederation in Oregon for Language Teaching (COFLT) chooses only three Oregon high-school students to receive their annual award for outstanding commitment to the study of a second language. One of those students is recent PAA graduate and Spanish IV student Jack Blashchishen!
The $1,000 COFLT scholarship is evidence of Jack’s hard work as well as PAA’s strong language program.
This is the second language learning award Jack has received this year. Jack was recently awarded a scholarship from the National Spanish Honor Society which selects 12 of the best students in the United States to receive a $2,000 prize.
Congratulations, Jack Blashchishen! And congratulations to our Spanish teacher Rita Barrett. Her passion for learning languages is contagious while her exploration of new and compelling ways to teach has resulted in remarkable student success.
