Written in Chalk, Written on Hearts

On a sunny day last week, something beautiful appeared on the sidewalks outside PAA's student entrance.
Words. Colors. Truth.
The sophomore girls Health class has been learning about something that matters deeply: how we see ourselves, and what we say to ourselves when no one else is listening. Because those words matter. They shape us more than we often realize.
So they took it outside. Armed with chalk and creativity and a whole lot of heart, students covered the sidewalks with affirmations and declarations, about themselves, about each other, and about every one of God's children who would walk by and read them.
Because that is the truth God speaks over each of us. You are seen. You are valued. You are loved. You are enough. And sometimes we need to see it written out in color on the ground beneath our feet to actually let it sink in.
What a gift these girls gave to their school last week. Every student who walked through that entrance got to step into a sidewalk full of encouragement, whether they knew they needed it or not.
We love this. We love these girls. And we love a Health class that teaches our students to take care of the whole person, mind, heart, and soul.
