When asked their opinions, PAA students are ready to share them. In the one of the key surveys PAA conducts each year, released in early March, students rated their teachers and classes.
The other key survey, released last month, gave parents the opportunity to rate PAA’s teachers, classes, programs and other aspects of PAA.
The average score of the student survey’s 18 statements was 8.7 or higher, on a 10-point scale.
Among the statements students to which students were asked to respond include:
This class lets me practice my critical thinking, problem solving, or communication skills.
My teacher is organized and ready for class.
My teacher cares about me.
My teacher brings Jesus into the classroom.

The number of responses you’ll see in the graphs is much higher than in the parent survey responses. Each student was asked to rate each of their classes and teachers. Multiply that by about 180 students and the number of classes they are taking results in the nearly 1,200 responses you’ll see in the graphs.
In addition, students had the opportunity to provide written statements about their classes and teachers. Here are a few, and then some are interspersed among the graphs:
She is the best teacher and person ever. She truly and deeply cares and loves her students and you can always see God shining through her.
I really like their devotional every day.
I literally love this class so much. The teacher makes the environment feel safe and comforting. I love that I am learning real life skills that I will actually use in real life outside of school.
I really like how I feel open and safe in her class. I have a hard time speaking in class, and I struggle with it, but I feel like I won’t be judged and she encourages me a lot!
I love this class and it helps me feel more connected with Christ. It makes me think a bit deeper on things that I didn’t necessarily think about before.
She is an amazing teacher. She really cares about all her students, explains concepts really well and makes sure that we understand it, encourages us to be better people, brings Jesus into the classroom, and is just really cool.
We learn really cool things in the class and I rarely find myself without anything to do. He’s not just a teacher, he will be your friend and talk about just about anything you want to and he’s always asking how I’m doing and making conversation with us. You can tell he cares about us and wants the best for us.
I really like her way of teaching in a way that makes complete sense. She is always able to help, which makes understanding the content much easier. She is also a friend, sharing her experiences, talking to us about life questions, and always checking in.
I like the fact that this teacher treats all the students equally no matter the belief or attitude towards this class. This teacher oozes kindness and it sticks to me. I never leave this class the same. I’ve never been one to talk openly about feeling God’s presence, but in this class I truly believe something greater is taking place.
