On Tuesday morning, all 61 members of the PAA choir stepped onto the stage to represent their school at the Oregon Small Schools Choir Invitational. It was the first time in many years that PAA has participated in OSAA state choir events, and our students rose to the moment with focus, confidence, and heart.
Dressed in full concert attire, the choir performed four pieces with excellence, pouring their energy and preparation into every note. Noemi and Makayla shared beautiful solo performances. The students’ dedication and teamwork were evident throughout the performance, and the adjudicators offered very positive feedback along with thoughtful comments to help them continue growing.
Choir members also had the opportunity to listen to other schools perform, including choirs from 1A and 5A programs. The experience gave students a chance to learn, reflect, and be inspired by other young musicians from across the state. They received the event rating of Excellent, a recognition of the quality and effort they brought to the stage.
Dr. Carter shared how proud he was of the students for their focus and commitment, especially after months of anticipation leading up to the performance. More importantly, the experience strengthened the students’ desire to keep singing with excellence, joy, and passion. As they continue to grow in their musical gifts, our choir students are using their voices not only to create beautiful music, but also to reflect the joy and creativity God has placed within them.
