Soccer camp for K-8th graders gave these future cougars the chance to make friends and learn skills.
This summer at Portland Adventist Academy, our annual sports camps brought over 150 elementary students to our campus! That number continues to grow annually!
Basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball camps bring these young students together to build friendship while learning and improving on basic sports skills.
What’s more?! Cougar Camps are a fantastic opportunity to connect with what could be future PAA families and help them build a community among themselves as well.
Cougar Camps bring work opportunity for PAA students! They make great mentors to the little athletes!
One parent commented that she hadn’t seen some of these faces since her time at Walla Walla College. “It’s pretty cool to see our kids playing soccer together,” she said.
“One of my favorite things at soccer camp was learning how to dribble,” said six-year-old Johannes Long. “And getting Gatorade!”
His big sister Magdalena Long added, “One of my favorite things was playing against the other kids and doing warm ups. I also learned to shoot with the inside of my foot. I’m definitely going to do soccer camp again next year.”
Volleyball camp for girls in 5-8th grades continues to grow in popularity.
PAA summer camps also offer current PAA students a chance to earn money for their tuition. PAA athletes joined coaches to help the little athletes learn a technique, practice it, and then apply it in a real game.
“Summer camps add value to our student work program,” says Jason Bibb, Vice Principal of Finance at PAA. “Our work program teaches students about work ethic, it helps them pay their tuition, and it gives them a sense of pride as they take ownership of their own education.”
PAA is excited to watch the summer camps develop into a thriving opportunity for future families to connect, for PAA students to earn tuition money, and for PAA to grow in enrollment.
See you next summer at Cougar Camps for Kids!
