The Glimpse: A Resurrected PAA Tradition

Some of the best ideas come from the most personal places.
Last spring, Hailey Anderson's mom stumbled across her old look book from her own high school days at PUC Prep, where it was called The Crackers Book. Flipping through the pages together, she showed Hailey the faces and names of classmates she had gotten to know through that little book, and shared how much it had meant to have a resource for connecting with people across her school. Then she looked at Hailey and said she wished Hailey knew more students from other classes.
That moment planted a seed.
When Hailey was voted in as Student Association Social VP, she knew exactly what she wanted to do with the opportunity. She would give PAA something it hasn’t had for years. A look book of our own.
With her mom by her side and Pastor Fernando's invaluable help getting it printed and formatted correctly, Hailey gathered photos of every student and faculty member, designed a cohesive layout, created a cover, and included important details like birthdays and the school calendar. It was not a quick or easy process. It took creativity, patience, a lot of trial and error, and a team of people who believed in the idea enough to see it through.
The result is The Glimpse, a resurrected PAA tradition born from one girl's desire to help her school know each other better.
And we could not love it more.
Community at PAA is one of our greatest strengths, and The Glimpse is a tool that is helping to build it faster. When students can put a name to a face, when a freshman can flip through a book and recognize a senior in the hallway, when a new student feels less like a stranger on day one, that matters. Those small moments of recognition add up to something significant over the course of a school year.
Hailey, thank you for seeing a need and doing something about it. Thank you to your mom for the inspiration and the hours of help. And thank you to Pastor Fernando for making sure it actually made it to print.
The Glimpse is a gift to this community.
