PAA Grows in Love and Life

The PAA family has much to celebrate as we bid farewell to 2017!

Besides having named Jason Bibb our official principal, we also have been celebrating the recent new arrivals of life and love.

First, we congratulate our music teacher Naomi Woods who married Aaron Fernandez during Christmas break. It’s been so exciting to journey with the now Mrs. Fernandez as she met Aaron, fell in love, and courted over the many miles. “Aaron and I met through Adventistsinglesconnection.com,” says Mrs. Fernandez. “There was something different and special right from the start. It has been a dream come true and a long wait for the man that I have prayed for. I am very grateful and I can’t wait for everyone to meet him!!!” Aaron and Naomi were married in New York City and the pictures are spectacular! You can see them and read about their story at www.fernandezfamily.me. The social media hashtag is #vowforeverfernandez.

Also newly wedded, is our Performance & Production teacher Jeremy Long.”I got to marry my best friend in a flood,” said Jeremy. “It was perfect. My wife, A.J. walked down the soggy, grassy aisle of my parent’s front yard in Tillamook to a John Lennon song that I recorded for her called “Oh My Love.” Some of my favorite lyrics to the tune are ‘oh my love / for the first time in my life / my eyes are wide open.’ It was so fitting for us to have an unconventional wedding ceremony because that is indicative of our love story in general: beautifully random, magical, and against all odds.” A.J. is such a delight and we’re so glad for this new love in our PAA family.

Last but not least, we are so blessed to report a new baby to the PAA family. Jollee Thorpe, our library assistant and study hall supervisor, and her husband Aaron, welcomed baby Christian Thorpe into the world. “Aaron Christian Thorpe II was born on Halloween at 8:51pm,” says Jollee. “We call him by his middle name (Christian) to avoid confusion. My husband and I have been married for two years and Christian’s presence in our family has blessed us so much. We are so grateful to have him and are enjoying getting to know him so far. It is a humbling experience being entrusted with parenting such a precious little one.” Jollee shared that Psalm 127:3 is special to them: Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.
