Students in Mrs. Heald’s U.S. History class took on the challenge of memorizing and reciting The Gettysburg Address, bringing one of the most iconic speeches in American history to life. Their focus, discipline, and commitment to excellence were on full display as they spoke words that have shaped generations.
Abraham Lincoln’s address honors fallen soldiers and reframes the Civil War as a defining test of America’s founding ideals—liberty, equality, and self-government. It calls for a “new birth of freedom” to ensure that democracy endures, ultimately concluding with the powerful reminder of a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
We are grateful to Pastor Fernando for recording and compiling the video so this meaningful student work could be shared with our community.

We love seeing our students engage deeply with important moments in history, using their voices to honor the past and better understand the ideals that continue to shape our world today.
