The season is still months away, but the PAA Girls Basketball team is already hard at work. That tells you everything you need to know about these young women.
The girls have been coming together regularly to raise funds for two goals: covering lodging and food for the Walla Walla University Friendship Tournament, and purchasing new team warm ups. They want it, and they are willing to work for it.
Last week the team held a car wash, and nearly the entire team showed up, along with their coaches and families, ready to make cars sparkle. The weather made for a slow start, but these girls are not easily discouraged. Over four hours they pushed through and raised over $450. Several people even stopped just to donate to their cause. The community sees what we see.
And that was not all. Throughout Summer League, the girls and their families sold concessions and cold drinks to keep the fundraising going strong.
Grit. Teamwork. Goals on and off the court. This is who the PAA Girls Basketball team is, and we could not be more proud of them.
Go Cougars!
